Updated: A man has now died, and another man has had his charges upgraded to murder, after a stabbing at South Grafton on the weekend.
Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District have been told two men were arguing in the home on Gardenia Way about 3.40am on Saturday (January 5), when one was allegedly stabbed twice in the abdomen.
The 28-year-old Eatonsville man was treated at the scene before being taken to Grafton Hospital, then flown to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
About 8pm Sunday (January 6), the man died in hospital.
A 33-year-old South Grafton man who was arrested a short time after the incident was taken to Grafton Police Station where he was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
On Monday (January 7), those charges were upgraded to murder.
