Fresh from reaching number one on the ARIA Country Charts, Emily Lubitz will headline the Heartbeat Festival Stage on Saturday 20 June, as part of the Lantern Parade.
Organisers say, ‘Backed by her all-star band, Lubitz’s signature blend of lushly-arranged country music and soaring vocal harmony (with a pinch of Swiss yodel) delivers a captivating and intimate live show from 7.30pm’.
‘Formerly the frontwoman of indie-folk pioneers Tinpan Orange, Lubitz has collaborated and toured with the likes of Paul Kelly, Martha Wainwright, Mama Kin, and the late, great Justin Townes Earle.
‘Throughout the day from 10.30am, the stage at the northern end of Carrington Street will host a range of very talented locals that will keep toes tapping, including Soul Good Band, Savage Cabbage – Evans Head School, Maccas Music, Living School Band, YJO, ZAM, The Sea Benz, The HopUps and Kwazi Bruni – Brazilian Big Band.
‘Friends & Jarjums will lead a special Welcome and Acknowledgement of Country at 3.45pm, celebrating culture, connection and community.
