I don’t care why Fast Buck$ has decided to start picking on me. Though I strongly object to his misquoting and misrepresenting me over the bypass and compensatory habitat to justify himself.
Last time he accused me of supporting the bypass and this time he has me saying ‘compensatory wetlands should be contiguous’, when I never supported either and never said what he says I said.
I do think that Richard Staples’s proposal for a mini-bypass over the existing second crossing was a sensible solution.
Most people want to go into town, so giving them an alternative route without destroying wetlands made sense. I was disappointed when after his election Simon Richardson ruled out this option in favour of the long bypass.
I am alarmed when I see that the location of the bus interchange is now in the middle of this crossing, ruling out a needed second route into and from the town centre from ever being used again. This is surely short sighted.
