Women Like Us: Jenny Wynter & Kat Davidson
Ballina RSL | Friday 6 March | 8pm | $35
For Mandy Nolan and Ellen Briggs, one of the joys of developing their Women Like Us show was building something other amazing women comics could step into. For the Ballina RSL show, Kat Davidson and Jenny Wynter step into the control briefs… these are two ladies who really know how to let rip!
If my kid/s described me they would say…
K: Weird… strange… one-of-a-kind… funny… not calm… epic… instagrammable. (I literally just asked her, and that’s what she said)
J: Is she that weird lady who turns up and makes pancakes sometimes?
When I wake up…
K: I am relieved.
J: I immediately start counting the minutes till nap-time.
The biggest shock…
K: Is when intelligent people do stupid things.
J: Was finding out the truth about Santa. My Mum literally grabbed me and said ‘There is no Santa! I’m Santa!’ It was my own Darth Vader moment.
I used to believe…
K: That I could get up without making old person noises. That is no longer the truth.
J: That my kids would never disrespect me because I’m a cool mum. Bahahahaha!
When I dance I tend to…
K: Do it like no one’s watching.
J: Go way harder than my fitness levels should allow me to. Basically I defy science.
My favourite position in the bedroom is…
K: Taking up all of the bed.
J: On my tummy, one arm by my side and the other over my face to block out the light. We’re talking sleep, right?
When I do sexy talk…
K: I like to use a kiwi accent. Apparently, it’s the sexiest in the world, also – it just sounds friendlier.
J: I inevitably turn it into a joke. Which, if you find comedy erotic, I suppose could be excellent.
If I could have anything…
K: I’d change the language settings on the bitchy voice in my head so I can’t understand any of the mean things she says about me.
J: I would be in an 80s inspired musical where I get to play the part of a Julie Andrews/Jane Fonda hybrid.
If I could change one thing about my husband…
K: It would be his desire to run the fuel gauge to empty.
J: Nothing. As I’m on hubby number two I’ve decided to embrace absolutely everything, and round him up to a 10. He’s stoked.
When I am nude…
K: I jiggle.
J: I am at my most relaxed. Unless I’m in Coles at the time. That feels tense.
When I step on stage with Women Like Us…
K: I am home. I’m working with amazing women, for an audience that are warm, and ready to laugh, and hilarious themselves. It’s heaven.
J: I honestly let out a squeal of inner joy.
