This year the John Mitchell annual charity golf day, which attracts up to 110 players, will be raising funds for Orange Sky Australia.
‘This year has been a very hard year for our fundraising efforts, but the need for our help is always there so we are proceeding with our golf day regardless,’ organiser John Bryant said.
‘Our major event this year is aimed at providing urgent funds for the Orange Sky Australia operation, which helps give some sense of dignity to the homeless through their mobile laundry and bathing facilities,’ he said.
‘We had decided on helping this organisation before the current pandemic crisis, but now the task is even more urgent’.
The event will be a four-person Ambrose and is set down for Sunday 4 October, with a 12 noon tee-off. Players can come as a team or individually. Bookings via the Byron Bay Golf Club Pro Shop.
‘This event will be run with deference to COVID-19 protocols, which won’t impact on the enjoyment of the day. You are promised a fun day boosted by some great prizes to be won. But you will also be supporting our selected beneficiary,’ John said.
