Fast Buck$, Coorabell

Looks like I was right in describing Cr Lyon as ‘Cr Wannabe’, by which I meant that his overriding need is to be a leader of men.

I’ve always thought of him as a bandwagoner who used The Greens as a vehicle for self-enhancement.

When The Greens failed recently to anoint him as Simon Lunchbox’s successor he at first whinged about the voting system, which is actually quite democratic, then ditched The Greens because, presumably, they were holding him back from the greatness he obviously deserves.

When it comes to self-belief he is in a tight race with ‘Lunchbox’ and ‘Blah Blah’. His most recent foray was to suggest that it is the councillors’ responsibility to protect the morale of the permanent staff, which is apparently achieved by sucking up to them and by signing their written excuses as though it was his own work.

Talking (reluctantly) of ‘Blah Blah’, she recently wrote a letter to The Echo suggesting that I call her ‘Blah Blah’ on account of her unusual name. That’s very creative of her but the real reason is that she talks too much, talks too much about herself, and expects all her utterances to be interesting to others.

I only raise this because she seems to think that my silence on this subject is some kind of admission, i.e. that she has scored some moral victory over me.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.

  1. In taking a lead, and the lead of the pencil, it looks like Fast Buck$ was right in describing Cr Lyon as ‘Cr Wannabe’, by which he, the king of the jungle in Council, meant that his overriding need was to be a leader of men.
