Surprise surprise, the hopelessly divided Nationals are once again tearing themselves apart, bugger the country, over-inflated egos and grandiose illusions seem more important. Intellectual ability and common sense have never been among the Nationals strengths. Their ‘strength’ comes from foreign-owned fossil-fuel and irrigation industry donations. After the turmoil Joyce caused when last a Minister, the destructive Nationals should never be allowed to control energy, water, or environmental policy again.

Barnaby Joyce regaining the Nationals leadership and Deputy Prime-ministership is an insult to all Australians, especially women, and will be a Godsend for Labor. The fellow is a walking disaster. ‘Shifty’ Morrison is going to need all his marketing skills dealing with this treachery; and will now have to deal with an even more belligerent, coal-driven, anti-climate change action and anti-environmental National Party, now completely out of control.

There is now a massive growing movement within the Liberal Party, to set an enforceable net-zero emissions target by 2050 that will not go away, and ‘Scotty’ can no longer ignore them. At the Glasgow climate summit in November, the rest of the world may impose sanctions or tariffs on our exports if we fail to commit. Australia, be prepared for more energy sector turmoil and expensive, government subsidised, coal-fired electricity generation, at the expense of cheaper renewables.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.

Please substitute “GREENS ” for ‘Nationals” and this statement will make sense .

Example , the local Greens and the forthcoming Council Election .

An utter shambles of un-electable candidates after their wonderful nomination process..

Also how is the NSW Branch of the Greens travelling nowadays .. All happy and united ?

  2. It’s somewhat surprising to see a Nationals supporter able to copy something so well, given their perceived problems with intellectual ability and common sense. No the titles are pretty correct, if you want to slag off at the Greens, work up the courage and do it yourself, and put your name to it.

  3. Jimie !! Keith gets carried away with his &
and the Greens importance!! Oh sorry i meant Labor … this is how it is Keith
If you and your Labor – Greens do not
Put forward Jim Chalmers and push hard
For Mark McGowan to lead labor who
Incidentally is a true labor politician
Supports blue collar & the resources industries..into the next election!! you and your current
Labor team are GONE keith .!!
Inept is a understatement as to how
the labor – Greens are fairing ATM ..
    “You know this ” …

  4. I don’t know it, Barrow. Assumptions are always ‘iffy’.
