Whilst I agree with most of Adrian Gattenhoff’s assertions in Letters (13 October: Perrotet and Opus Dei) I urge him not to be fooled by the premise that we have inalienable rights that are innate to us all.
What we have are privileges that can be taken away with the stroke of an unelected bureaucrat’s pen. Search YouTube: ‘George Carlin: you have no rights’ and have a laugh at the absurdity of such a premise.
