I want to thank Byron Council for including the flyer in The Echo about koalas and dogs. There is so much ignorance when it comes to protecting our wildlife. I know a man who traps and kills cats on his property, yet lets his dogs run wild and kill koalas.

Australia is a cruel backward country for animal protection. Most Australians love animals and almost every home has a dog or a cat.

When it comes to the Council election in December, I will vote for the person who has a compassionate and intelligent approach towards animals, because a government who is indifferent to animal suffering will not care for its people.

Thank you for everything you do.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
