Lismore Women’s Festival cancelled

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis that is sweeping NSW and other states in Australia the Lismore Women’s Festival has been cancelled.

On Monday 29 November 2021, I was in Mullumbimby Woolworths around 1–1.30pm.

I counted 14 people without a mask, including two staff members and a Byron Shire mayoral candidate. A further four people wore their masks below their nose or chin.

As I entered, one person strode through the door without checking in.

I’m done shopping there – absolutely blatant disregard for public health despite COVID-19 now in the local community and a highly infectious new variant already in the country.

I was potentially exposed to the virus by 18 unmasked people within 30 minutes. One of whom I observed hoping to boost his immune system by loading up his trolley with certified organic soups.

There have been times when the supermarket has had security on site and enforcement of masks and check-ins. Apparently they no longer care.

  1. Commerce usurps public health . The rights of the individual override the entire group . Social media podcasts dominate . I think the last year has shown that .

  2. if youre double vaxxed you no longer need to wear a mask woolworths also does home delivery for the ultimate protection from the unwashed dont leave your home.

    • “MASKS
All people over the age of 12 must wear a face mask:
in indoor areas (e.g. while shopping, when at a library)
in indoor areas of common property of apartment buildings
at a public transport waiting area
      while on public transport
if you are working at a hospitality venue and dealing directly with members of the public
on an aircraft when the aircraft is flying above NSW and in the airport.
      Exemptions are available. “

From nsw.gov.au – RULES FOR FULLY VACCINATED PEOPLE IN NSW

I’d suggest those who find it such an imposition to comply with the simple measure of wearing a mask should get deliveries.

    • As strange a concept as it must seem to you , I think Eve is not actually thinking. Only of herself ,and actually thinking about the entire group. .

    • Anton old son, please do catch up. The vaccine does not stop Covid transmission dead in its tracks. Vaccinated people can still contract the Covid. The vaccine protects against severe disease if one does become infected.but it is helpful to not become infected in the first instance and this is where the Eve is coming from. Of course the Eve being pro-vaccine is being pro- public health not just for herself but for EVERYONE, yes.
