NSW Police say a motorcycle rider has died following a two-vehicle crash today.
A report says that a about 12.30pm (Saturday, January 29), emergency services were called to Nimbin Road at Koonorigan – about 18km north of Lismore – following reports a Yamaha motorcycle and Mitsubishi Triton had collided.
The rider, a 66-year-old Queensland man, sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to the Gold Coast Hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 43-year-old man, was uninjured and taken to Lismore Base Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
Officers attached to Richmond Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will now be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
