The SES has issued immediate evacuation orders for those living in North and South Lismore. Those in the CBD should evacuate by 5am tomorrow.

The Bureau of Meteorology has advised the NSW State Emergency Service that the Lismore Levee will overtop at 6am Monday morning (February 28, 2022)

SES is directing people along the Wilson River within South Lismore to evacuate the high danger area via Union Street and the Bruxner Highway.

Once floodwater passes 8.84 metres on the Rowing Club Gauge at South Lismore roads will begin to close.

The areas affected are:

• The area bordered by Casino Street, Bruxner Highway, Caniaba Street and the Lismore Airport.

• Norca Lane, River Road, Elliott Road, Foleys Road, Taylor Street, Wardell Street and Riverview Park.

• The northern end of Cabiaba Street, Meadow Drive, Charlton Avenue and Scott Place

NSW SES is directing people within North Lismore to evacuate the high danger area via Union Street and the Bruxner Highway.

Once floodwater passes 9.15 metres on the Rowing Club gauge at North Lismore roads will begin to close.

The areas affected are:

• In North Lismore Alexander Parade, Winterton Parade. Tweed Street, Arthur Street, Pitt Street, Bridge Street, Slater Street, Flick Street, Wotherspoon Street, Baillie Street, Exton Street, Terania Street, Currie Street, Boorie Street, Bray Street and Peate Streets.

• In the northwest Lake Street, Hallam Street, Gibbon Street and Macaulay Streets.

• And South Lismore streets bounded by Terania Street, Casino Road, Union Street and Wilson Street.

NSW SES is now directing people within THE CBD to evacuate the high danger area by 5am via New Ballina Road, Bruxner Highway and Dalley Street.

Once floodwater passes 10.4 metres on the Rowing Club gauge at Lismore roads will begin to close.

The areas affected are:

• Lismore CBD

Once floodwater begins inundating the area road access water, sewerage, power, phones and internet may be lost. If you remain in the area you will be trapped and it may be too dangerous for SES to rescue you.

Once floodwater begins inundating the area, road access may be cut. If you remain in the area after 5am Monday morning you may become trapped, and it may be too dangerous for NSW SES and emergency services to rescue you.

Do not wait, leave NOW!

In life-threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on 132 500.

Never drive or walk through floodwaters. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.
