Some people are just unique and that is the way I think of Vyvyan Stott.
Vyvyan always had time to talk, time to share news, to express concern and warnings for unfolding events and discuss possible solutions.
He always managed to throw in his quirky humour and quintessential laugh which lightened the load.
Vyvyan was pivotal in connecting people over the years.
He grew his own community beyond his immediate community.
I have kept a few of Vyvyan’s letters in their sealed brown envelopes.
Vyvyan’s handwriting, a memory of him for me.
Vyvyan – Latin origin that means ‘Alive’.
Vyvyan has left an indelible mark on so many people’s lives across Australia.
Memories of Vyvyan will always remain alive.
Bless you for all the good you did when I suspect you weren’t even aware that your impact was as huge as it was.
And Vyvyan, we won’t give up.
Rest in Peace now Vyvyan.
In Loving Memory,

For four decades The Echo has printed the stories some people loved, some people hated, and some pretended not to read. If you want us to keep telling the truth, the real truth, not the sugar-coated version. We’ll need your support to keep the presses rolling.
