Two long standing community groups in Mullumbimby are collaborating to support flood affected people and businesses across the Brunswick Valley.
The local chapters of the Country Women’s Association (CWA) and Rotary are working in partnership to distribute $20,000 from the CWA’s NSW Disaster Fund.

Residents and business owners living in the postcode areas of 2482 and 2483 who were affected by the floods are eligible to apply for grants of $500.
They can do so by visiting the CWA’s newly minted website which was created with the help of Rotary club member Beverly Masters.
Applications for this round of grants will close on July 15, 2022.
The President of the Mullumbimby CWA Diane Giddins said the branch was aware that many people were still traumatised from the floods and in need of support.
‘As a gesture to show we care, we gave more than 100 vouchers on local businesses to flood affected people, which also helps to keep the businesses going,’ Ms Giddins said.
‘Immediately after the floods, we gave cooked meals to the Neighbourhood Centre for
distribution and made hundreds of sandwiches for the volunteers.
‘We are pleased to work with Rotary Mullumbimby with the funds we have obtained from the Disaster Fund, and urge Brunswick Valley people in need to apply.’
Rosetta Smiriglia, the President of Mullumbimby Rotary said her club had given away more than $35,000 in small grants, $1000 in gift vouchers and held several free community barbecues.
She said the club would continue to support the community as it rebuilt and recovered from the floods.
