We have broken the hearts of the most vulnerable in our nation. I am ashamed to be an Australian.
Sad and sorry for so many mob who are hurt and angry everywhere right now.
‘Australians
how can we rejoice?
We are hurting,
can’t you see?
On stolen soil,
we still must toil
For our peoples’ right
to be.
Our land abounded
with nature’s gifts
Many now harmed
beyond repair
Even at this stage,
we can’t turn the page
Despite our hearts
laid bare.
Beneath our ancient Southern Cross
We grieve for traditional lands
So much taken in such short time
Now you give us boots,
not hands.
For those that come
across the seas
We have always been willing to share,
But introduced greed
and entitlement
Can never make for fair.
In truthful words,
let us observe
Australia is not fair.’
