There is a hot dry summer on its way and between the risks of bushfires and drownings there is plenty to discover at this weekend’s Emergency Services Show at Brunswick Heads on Saturday, October 7 at the Brunswick Heads Markets in Banner Park 9am until 3pm.
There will be lots of equipment to look at and plenty of free advice on how to manage the upcoming months.
‘Emergency Services Community Connect will offer the community a chance to come and meet local emergency response members and showcase some of the equipment used in an emergenc,’ said Sarah Boulle, Byron Shire Council Recovery Coordinator.

’We encourage you to bring your friends and family to meet members of the local emergency services. Not only is this a fantastic opportunity to come and have your questions answered, but this event will also provide the community with a chance to connect with one another.
‘Kids can look at some of the exciting vehicles and equipment, such as jet skis and fire trucks, and there will also be demonstrations throughout the day.
‘With a hot dry summer expected organisations like the NSW Rural Fire Service can advise you on creating your own bushfire preparation plan. While the Red Cross can show you how to keep cool in a heat wave,’ she said.
In attendance will be members of the local NSW SES, NSW Police, NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service, Marine Rescue NSW and more.
Further information about the event is on Council’s website.
