It is an iconic Australian image, the kids at the pool over summer – pools are part of the identity of almost every Australian country town, a key way to cool down as the temperatures rise.
Friday 13 September will see the Lismore Memorial Baths at 179 Molesworth Street, Lismore open its gates for the summer season following the installation of the final piece of flood-restoration work.
Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 6am to 6pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm. These hours will be extended to 7pm weekdays during daylight savings from Sunday, 6 October 2024.

When the pool re-opened ahead of summer last year, Council was still waiting on the delivery of a moveable dividing block to bring the pool back to 50 metres. The diving block will be installed next week in time for the season opening.
The Lismore Memorial Baths provides an eight-lane 50-metre lap pool, four lane 25-metre lap pool, toddlers splash pool, swimsations Swim School, and all pools are solar heated.
A kiosk serves tasty treats including espresso coffee, hot chips, and ice cream.
Pool entry is just $6.35 for adults and $5.55 for students/concession card holders. Visitor packs, season passes and monthly memberships are also available. For just $4.40 extra, kids can enjoy the ever-popular inflatable obstacle course on the weekends from 12pm – 3pm.
