Bob Brown Foundation says two forest defenders were arrested yesterday after occupying Ta Ann’s plywood mill in Smithton, Tasmania, yesterday.
Those arrested, Laura Mckew, 62, and Deborah Lynch, 70, said they were holding Ta Ann to account for greenwashing continued native forest destruction across Lutruwita/Tasmania.
Police moved on other members of Bob Brown Foundation mid-morning as the non-violent direct action continued.

‘The exposure of Ta Ann’s complicity in greenwashing native forest logging destruction comes with evidence of thousands of tons of wasted, rotting, peeler product in the Ta Ann yard.
‘This is discarded wood from forests that should have been left standing,’ said Erik Hayward, Bob Brown Foundation Campaigner.
‘Our investigative report on Ta Ann released today proves the statewide damage this company, and the native forest logging industry, is having on our wild areas. We will not back down until we see an end to native forest logging in Australia, an archaic practice that should have ceased decades ago,’ said Mr Hayward.
