How many politicians have been traumatised by the experience of homelessness?
If they have experienced this structural social reality they would be reflecting compassion and the right to be housed according the charter of international rights on all political decisions.
They would demand housing for all… no matter the political stance.
A recent report of a huge unoccupied prison in Victoria remains, staffed but non-functional due to structural faults in the building of same. This prison cost billions and much funding was aided by dipping into social housing funding! A neat political decision.
So it flows homelessness and trauma are so associated with all law and order policies and criminalisation of traumatised victims, created by politicians.
Politicians must wake up to the face that politics (e.g. climate change) and prison share dark visions that transform into greater social suffering. All is interconnected. Compassion please.
