The southbound slow lane on Pacific Highway is to be closed between Tweed Heads South and Chinderah from 8pm to 3am each night this week until Wednesday.
Transport NSW says workers are to carry out vegetation management and essential maintenance.
Works were to start near the Minjungbal Drive southbound off and on ramps from Sunday 20 July.
The southbound onramp to Pacific Highway from Barneys Point Road is to be closed for one night on Tuesday 22 July.
Southbound motorists from Barneys Point Road are to continue north on Sexton Hill Drive onto Darlington Drive and detour via the Minjungbal Drive onramp to enter the Pacific Highway.
The southbound offramp to Fingal Road is to be closed on Wednesday 23 July.
Drivers wishing to access Fingal Road are advised to continue south and detour via the Chinderah Road roundabout, then travel north and exit at Waugh Street continuing onto Chinderah Bay Drive and Fingal Road.
