Bullseye. Israel and Washington fell for them, hook, line and sinker.

We can see who will win in this asymmetrical war by closing their strait of Hormuz and holding the world economy at ransom.

Teheran taunted Jewish governments for decades, threatening their annihilation and now they found a gullible enemy in sly Netanyahu and dumb Trump. They have a war economy with vast reserves of weaponry. No need for bomb shelters protecting citizens, but instead underground cities packed with drones and missiles, similar to Hamas.

Trump is using $1m missiles to eliminate $20,000 Shahed drones, and he’s going broke, plus running out of stock.

Dictatorships don’t have to deal with pesky four year election cycles. They eliminate independent media, judiciary, persecute opposition, kill outspoken critics or brainwash minorities (see Yyghurs in China or Gulags in Siberia). They despise liberal western democracies.

We know wrecking ball Trump came into power with Russia’s online interference in the 2016 election. They’re very good at hacking into cybersecurity systems, capitalising on failing economic prowess in the west and fostering right wing populism.

We’re on a wild ride, and now Pauline Hanson and Barnaby Joyce are winning over Liberal voters in Australia. Imagine them in government? As voters we’re at the coalface to decide our future. ‘Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others.’

For four decades The Echo has printed the stories some people loved, some people hated, and some pretended not to read. If you want us to keep telling the truth, the real truth, not the sugar-coated version. We’ll need your support to keep the presses rolling.

If you are a local business owner help us and in turn we help you. All The Echo asks for is advertising, not a free ride. It is every advert in The Echo and on www.echo.net.au, which creates the space for all the stories and coverage of community events, happenings and concerns.

If you are a reader you can become a sponsor of The Echo. Your support keeps the us independent.

Even a small one-off or regular donation from you will help keep the echo’s independent voice alive and strong.
