Having just read an article in The Echo on $72,000 grant to Wardell Core, I find it hard to believe that anyone thinks this waste of government money is a great idea.
As a resident of Wardell for over 40 years and having 2m of flood water through my home in Richmond Street, Wardell, only 200 metres from this group, they have done not one thing for me, no help, no money, not even asked do you need any help. To me, all they have done is feed their own ‘business’, taking millions away from flood victims.
So if you think giving them $72,000 is a good idea, you need to come and talk to people who have been flooded and are still repairing their properties.
But I guess lots of people are of the wrong political colour in this story, and don’t believe all this group of people tell you – they do nothing for Wardell unless it’s for their own benefit and some in Wardell Core and the greatest grant writers ever to come out of our universities.
