Artificial intelligence usage becoming more prevalent and socially acceptable within our society has helped further endanger the mental wellbeing of an already isolated and disconnected generation.

The recent announcement that Adelaide University will cease traditional lectures for students got me thinking about my, and now my kids’, experiences in education and at university.

We live in a world of over 8 billion people. Never in the history of humanity have so many people inhabited this planet. And yet many of us are lonely. How can we have so many humans so absolutely disconnected and sad? 

For some people their dogs and cats and fish and iguanas are more than just pets – they are valued members of the family and treasured earthlings, and the joy they bring and the sadness at their loss, for many people, is the same as any human relationship.
