Authorities say nobody was physically injured when a truck’s cargo caught fire near Newrybar Sunday night.

The Ballina Shire Council has approved construction of a new Lennox Head Rural Fire Service (RFS) station, after noting a dire biodiversity impact report on the site in September.

Fire crews and emergency services were called to a blaze at Piggabeen in the early hours of Monday.
