A free information session for Mullumbimby residents to prepare for November’s switch to digital TV will be held at the Mullumbimby Library this Friday 27 July, between 2.30pm and 3.30pm.
In Byron Shire, the switch to digital television broadcasting will be made on 27 November. After the switch, analog TV will be permanently switched off in the shire and free-to-air TV will be broadcast via a digital-only signal.
This means that everyone in the Byron Shire will be able to access all 16 free-to-air digital TV channels from ABC, SBS and commercial broadcasters for the very first time.
Government help is available for eligible residents to make the switch. For more information call Ms Alex Grantham, the Tweed Richmond digital switchover liaison officer, on 1800 201 013.
