Police are continuing to raid marijuana plantations on the north coast despite last week’s announcement that the annual ‘cannabis eradication program’ had ended.
Detectives arrested two men after seizing cannabis from a property at Woodburn on Friday.
Police raided a property on The Gap Road about 2.40pm seizing 33 cannabis plants, more than 5kg of cannabis leaf, as well as cannabis resin and seeds.
Two men were arrested at the scene.
A 55 year old man was subsequently charged at Lismore Police Station with a raft of offences, including cultivate prohibited plant; manufacture prohibited drug; supply prohibited drug; possess prohibited drug; and self administer prohibited drugs
He was conditionally bailed to appear in Lismore Local Court on Monday May 6.
The second man, 52, is expected to be issued a notice to appear in court at a future date charged with cultivate prohibited plant and possess prohibited drug.
Investigations are ongoing.
