The Northern Rivers Social Development Council (NRSDC) has been named as a finalist for the 2013 Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) awards.
The AWEI is Australia’s definitive national benchmark on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) workplace inclusion. CEO Tony Davies will also be attending the Pride in Diversity Business Luncheon on May 17 in Sydney where the winner will be announced.
NRSDC manager of operations and corporate support, Jana Hall, said it was an honour just to make it onto the finalist list.
‘It’s a great honour to even be a finalist,’ Jana said. ‘Past place-getters in the Top 10 list have included major corporations such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, and IBM so we’re absolutely thrilled to be nominated and affiliated with this prestigious award.’
Pride in Diversity is Australia’s first and only not-for-profit workplace program designed specifically to assist Australian employers with the inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) employees.
