Mungo, in this week’s video, made the comment: ‘that’s the Abbott style of government’. I strongly disagree.
Abbott, in my view, doesn’t have an original thought in his turned-backward head. He is a mindless puppet of his confessed mentor, John Howard, from five prime ministers ago! He wants to drag our nation back to the last century.
He’s not running a government so much as a secret service… making even worse mistakes than he relentlessly accused Kevin Rudd of making within the first minutes of his prime ministership. Shameless and insensitive, he even has the audacity to ask that the next parliament be polite. He wouldn’t begin to know the meaning of the word or request. He was the most outrageous, unkind, unfair, verbally ugly apology for a sane, intelligent opposition leader in our parliamentary history. Even Paul Keating, at his worst, was not such a character assassin.
First time I’ve had to disagree with you, Mungo. Keep up your good assessments of this unbearably arrogant lot who are literally stealing from the public purse – and especially from us pensioners, who can find no other ‘JOY(ce)’ in life than to spend money we could have had on ensuring Barnaby gets to enjoy rugby grand finals, the perfect venue for political discussions, and phoney Tony charging us for his bike rides – which are UNprimeministerial – and still owning us $3,000 (that we know of).
Am 82, and couldn’t be more disgusted (in case it’s not evident).
