Victoriana Gaye, all the way from southwestern coastal Victoria, have managed to play every weekend and more for the last four years running.

They have just returned from their fifth South Australia tour and are in the middle of their sixth east coast tour. They are on a roll, so to speak.

Sometimes whimsical, sometimes romantic and sometimes rockin’, Victoriana Gaye describe their sound as a quirky combination of pop and folk with a tiny bit of grunge. The couple play a mix of acoustic and electric guitars, trumpet, ukulele, harmonica and sweet harmonies.

Victoriana-GayeHusband-and-wife duo Vicki Gaye Philipp and Jeff Raglus (Bachelors from Prague, Black Sorrows,The Beachniks), have packed a lot into the six years since they formed. Recording the EP 5 Songs in 2009. Touring and playing their original tunes at festivals and venues in Japan and Australia. They released the debut album Our Pleasure in 2010 through Vitamin records. They just released their third CD Holy Roll in August and they are currently touring this new album.

Vicki is known for her original theatrical shows. As well as being a well-known musician Jeff is a popular visual artist, having many solo exhibitionsn and was part of the Mambo team for most of the nineties.

Youth crime is increasing – what to do?

There is something strange going on with youth crime in rural and regional Australia. Normally, I treat hysterical rising delinquency claims with a pinch of salt – explicable by an increase in police numbers, or a headline-chasing tabloid, or a right-wing politician.
