Tweed Byron District Women

Here we are in December again with the end of the bowling year on the horizon.  Christmas break-up parties and presentations are in full swing around the district.

TBDWBA ended a wonderful 25th year with their break-up and presentation party held at Cabarita Beach B.C. A perfect morning of bowls, complimented with a huge run down raffle, supplied by the Management Committee (thank you ladies), was thoroughly enjoyed by all.  Teams skipped by Barbara Sprengel and Valerie Dudley were the winners on the green for the day.  Robin Andrews and Colleen Smith took home the Lucky Number prizes.

*** Being the 25th Anniversary of the Association special guests, in the form of the inaugural Management Committee, were invited to the Christmas lunch.  It was delightful to have Secretary Lois Dunlop, Chair of Selectors Gloria Henry and Chair of Social Yvonne Pritchard honour our current members with their attendance.   District President, Betty Croft, presented the ladies with an Orchid Shoulder Spray at lunch. Unfortunately inaugural President Jean Sorsby, Vice Pres. Dot Gill and Social Club member Gloria Marshall were unable to attend due to health reasons.  Best wishes go to these ladies for a speedy recovery.

District President Betty would like to thank Cabarita Beach B.C., hosts for this event, for their organisation and hospitality that guaranteed a wonderful day thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Best wishes to all for a healthy, happy and safe Christmas and New Year.  See you again on the greens in 2014.  Happy bowling everyone.
