Police are appealing for information after a woman was forced to drive at knifepoint in a kidnapping and robbery in Casino yesterday.
Police said that around midday yesterday (Thursday), a 31-year-old woman entered her car, parked outside public toilets, in Johnston Street, Casino, where she told police a man was sitting in the rear seat.
The man put a cord around her throat and threatened her with a knife, demanding she drive from the area.
She was forced to drive at speed until she got to a caravan park, near Lismore airport.
The man jumped into the front seat and rifled through the woman’s hand bag before fleeing.
The man has been described as Aboriginal in appearance, with a very dark complexion, wearing a black ‘hoodie’ jumper with blue/green down one side. He has a distinctive left eyebrow piercing of a hoop with a pink ball and had a word tattooed on the inside of his right arm.
The woman suffered minor injuries, including scratches to her throat.

Also if anyone saw the woman’s car, a white Ford 1994 XG panel van, driving erratically on the Bruxner Highway between midday and 1pm today they are also urged to contact Crime Stoppers online or on 1800 333 000.
