There is nothing like a hero to spur the troops and the Greens have just such a hero in Bob Brown.

Bob will be visiting the region next week bringing tales from his recent High Court challenge of anti-protest laws in Tasmania. He will also be discussing why the draconian and unconstitutional anti-protest laws in NSW are such a threat to our democracy, environment, farmers and community.

Bob Brown says the Northern Rivers has a strong history of community activism, like his home state of Tasmania. ‘It’s communities like ours that lead the way toward a better future,’ he says.

‘This Federal election the people of the Northern Rivers have the opportunity to make history and elect a Green. If you want to put the needs of your area on the map, now is your opportunity.’

‘The community is fast learning they can trust the Greens to represent their interests, rather than those of the big donors’.

‘With the coal seam gas industry continuing to bankroll the Labor and National parties how can you trust them to protect this unique area from this destructive industry,’ says Brown.

‘It is a great honour to have Bob join us here in the Northern Rivers,’ says Dawn Walker Greens candidate for Richmond.

‘For me personally Bob has been a great source of inspiration through his courage and lifetime commitment.’

‘I look forward to hearing Bob’s insights into the seat of Richmond and how the important issues like climate change, refugees, health and TAFE education, will play out’.

The event will be held next Wednesday June 22 at the Regent Theatre, Murwillumbah.

Exclusive entry, $100 from 5pm| Forum entry + dinner $25/35 | Entry only $15/25. Public forum 7pm.
