Voted Best Craft Beer - Stone & Wood's Pacific Ale.
Voluntary recall: Stone & Wood’s Pacific Ale.

Byron Bay’s Stone & Wood brewery has instigated a voluntary partial recall of 330ml bottles of their popular Pacific Ale with the best before date code of 25.02.17.

The company announced the partial recall in a statement on its website yesterday, saying it was a ‘precautionary measure due to an isolated incident that may have led to traces of residual cleaning solution transferring to a small number of bottles in a single batch’.

‘In accordance with our quality procedures we are recalling all product from within that batch,’ the statement read.

The affected product has been available in northern New South Wales and Queensland only.

‘We are now notifying our customers and the relevant authorities in accordance with our established product recall plan,’ the statement read.

The company is calling customers that have any of the above batch of Pacific Ale to contact its customer care team as soon as possible, or return to their place of purchase.

A full refund or replacement will be provided on return of the recalled products.

‘Stone & Wood is committed to the quality of its products and the safety of its customers. This voluntary partial recall is being undertaken as a precautionary measure as part of our ongoing commitment to maintain the highest standards of product quality at all times.

No other Stone & Wood products or batches of Pacific Ale are affected by this recall. We would like to assure everyone that you can continue to have confidence in the quality of our beer,’ the statement said.

The company has apologised for the inconvenience and said people with any queries should contact it on 02 6685 9203 or via email on[email protected]

Youth crime is increasing – what to do?

There is something strange going on with youth crime in rural and regional Australia. Normally, I treat hysterical rising delinquency claims with a pinch of salt – explicable by an increase in police numbers, or a headline-chasing tabloid, or a right-wing politician.
