After the success of last year’s recycled-bicycle-wheel Christmas tree in Lismore, council staff have this year used old tires to bring on the festive season.
The new ‘tree’ was erected this morning on the Keen and Magellan Streets roundabout, while last year’s tree has sprouted up in the village of Clunes.
Lismore mayor Isaac Smith posted a photograph of the tire-tree this morning saying ‘I love the Spirit of Lismore council staff!
‘Another wonderful gift for us to enjoy. Can’t wait to see it lit up at night.
Who painted the tyres? they are great!
Looks well, really livens the joint up along with LED lights on Magellan Street trees.
