Police say a Lismore Heights man charged with stealing a diamond ring in Sydney over the weekend is also responsible for breaking into a Billinudgel vet in April.

The ring and other stolen goods were recovered after police following up an outstanding arrest warrant searched a property eight kilometres south of Kempsey on Tuesday (June 5).

Officers from the Mid North Coast Police District went to the property on Burnt Bridge Road, Burnt Bridge shortly before 9am, and arrested a 29-year-old man.

During the search, police recovered a diamond ring valued at more $6,000 which had been reported stolen from a Neutral Bay home during a break, enter and steal at the weekend.

They also located high-end electronic equipment as well as a $15,000 motorbike, which had been reported stolen from a property in Schofields last year.

The man was taken to Kempsey Police Station where he was charged with break and enter at a veterinary business in Billinudgel on April 18.

He was also charged with having goods in custody suspected of being stolen, and two counts of receiving stolen goods.

The man, from Lismore Heights, appeared in Kempsey Local Court where he was granted conditional bail to re-appear in the same court on Monday 18 June 2018.

Inquiries are continuing.
