Whilst I acknowledge these are difficult times for any government, I am astounded at the lack of intelligence from both federal and State governments.
Where in the world these days can you disembark from a cruise ship and enter a country without declaring a passport!
The PM tells us that we are different from other countries because we are a federation. This virus does not recognise lines on a map.
Then, we are expected to take the advice of Federal Chief Medical Officer, Professor Brendan Murphy, who in front of the TV cameras, takes his hanky, sticks it up his nose with his finger, puts it back in his pocket, then spreads his hands back on the podium. Health professional?
Here in NSW we have what seem to be the most draconian social distancing laws, yet the borders are open, you can go to the hairdresser, or go for a game of golf. But don’t you dare sit down for a rest, even if you wear a mask, and there is not another soul around.
But don’t worry you can still go to the bottleshop, because here in this lucky country it’s an essential service.
Bless us all. Especially the workers who are keeping the wheels in motion, and the health care workers. What would we do without them?
Stay safe, keep a distance and consider wearing a mask.
