Following comments made by Jim Rose, (Letters, 15 July), re ABC funding, how would he respond to this statement? ‘Coalition gives another $10m to Foxtel to boost women’s sport on TV… Handout brings to $40m the amount Murdoch’s subscription service has received since 2017, and comes as government slashes ABC funding by $84m’ (Guardian, 22 July).
Or will he claim that these annual donations are purely in the interest of promoting women’s sport, and nothing to do with News Corp’s favourable political coverage of the coalition’s government policies?
