Paul Brecht, Evans Head

Reading the letters section of The Echo I came across the two councillor’s Martin [former Greens] and Ndiaye [Greens] and also Kate Coxall who is a Greens council candidate and their letters concerning the behaviour of John Anderson aka Fast Buck$ which led to an AVO being issued.

I’ve been in Council meetings at the same time as John, yes he is boystrous, and so was I at different times on different occasions.

I understand John’s frustrations of sitting there at meetings and having to put up with the tripe that goes on; to me it sounds like the old women’s club ganging up on a male who doesn’t (in their eyes) conduct himself to their satisfaction?

I have been a conservationist for 30 years and after the supposed green councillors voted for the Clayton’s bypass and destroyed 1.5hectares of Mitchell’s rainforest snail habitat – certainly no green credentials there.

These people have brought the Byron Greens into disrepute. How these people sit in the chambers and call themselves Greens is beyond me. As for Kate the candidate – I don’t recall knowing her name. Must be a new arrival.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
