I was just thinking the other day how friendly and chatty everyone is – until I noticed the tell-tale AirPods in their ears. They weren’t talking to me at all, they were on their phones.
Most of the conversations seemed to be peppered with business jargon such as ‘merchandising opportunities’, ‘synergies’ and ‘key performance indicators (KPIs)’.
I let one bloke know that his dog had done a poo, to which he responded, ‘Excuse me, I’m in a sales meeting’. Clearing up his dog’s poo is clearly not one of his KPIs.
