
Around 9pm (Tuesday 17 October 2023), emergency services were called to Tree Street, Bray Park, following reports of a car fire.

Several residents in the area reported hearing what sounded like fireworks at around 8.40pm. With the early fire season many thought that it was a bushfire and rang local fire services.
Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the fire; however, the car was destroyed.
Locals have told The Echo that the flames from the car fire could be seen from Murwillumbah
Officers from Tweed/Byron Police District have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the blaze.
