Richmond Valley residents and visitors can look forward to two days of unparalleled entertainment next month as Richmond Valley Council presents the new Festival of the Waters.
Council says it’s thrilled to announce the headline acts for this highly anticipated event are Brooke McClymont and Adam Eckersley, and Tex Perkins and Matt Walker – promising an unforgettable experience for music enthusiasts and fans alike.
These Aussie favourites will be joined by Bunny Racket, The Buckleys, Children of Bob, The Billy Gudgeon Band, and Jesa – DJ Donald Pump.
Funded under the NSW Government’s Reconnecting Regional NSW – Community Events Program, and spread over the weekend 20-21 January, the Festival of the Waters is a celebration of the resilience and passion of our Mid-Richmond communities.
Saturday 20 January will see a hive of activity at Coraki’s Windsor Park with the Mid-Richmond Neighbourhood Centre’s keenly-awaited Splashfest getting underway at 11am.
Running until 4pm, the day will feature The Billy Gudgeon Band, Jesa – DJ Donald Pump, Truckstop Sk8, Fitness Kidz, Helly Hoops, Good Evans Art Studio, free kids’ amusements and markets.
Woodburn too
Sunday 21 January sees the celebrations continue in Woodburn’s main street from 12.30pm with an array of attractions complementing our talented musicians.
Richmond Valley Council says there will be plenty of family-friendly entertainment, with a jet pack water show, roving pirate performances and a circus workshop, sand sculpting, drumming performances and workshops, as well as market stalls, food vans, and a show ‘n’ shine.
This full day of entertainment will be capped by an impressive fireworks display.
RVC says the Festival of the Waters is for people from out beyond the region as much as it is for locals. They’re hoping as many people as possible will come to experience the beautiful Mid-Richmond, and enjoy the summertime revelry.
