Current National Party member for Page, Kevin Hogan, has again been endorsed as the National Party candidate for the seat of Page for the upcoming federal election.

The seat of Page includes the local government areas (LGA) of the Clarence Valley Council, Kyogle Council, Lismore City Council, Richmond Valley Council, part of the Ballina Shire Council, and part of the Coffs Harbour City Council.

Mr Hogan has been the Member for Page in the lower house since he was first elected in 2013 when he won the seat from now Labor NSW state Member for Lismore Janelle Saffin. Ian Robinson, Nationals, was the first to hold the seat from December 1, 1984 to March 24, 1990 before it was taken by Labor’s Harry Woods in 1990 till March 2, 1996. It then went back to the Nationals under Ian Causley until October 17, 2007. Ms Saffin held the seat for Labor from November 24, 2007 till September 7, 2013 before Mr Hogan took the seat back for the Nationals in 2013 ’till present.

I am humbled to have recently been endorsed as the National’s candidate for this year’s Federal election. It is an honour to serve our community and with their support I hope to continue to do so,’ said Mr Hogan.

‘We need to get our country back on track. Labor have been an exceptionally disappointing government. Cost-of-living pressures, the housing crisis and the complete lack of funding for regional communities all need reversing.’

The LNP had held power for the previous nine years. While the 2022 federal election saw the LNP lose to Labor with the LNP retaining only 58 seats combined. Mr Hogan bucked the trend with a swing of 1.3 per cent towards the National Party in the seat of Page. On a two-party preferred basis he won 60.7 per cent of the vote with Labor on 39.3 per cent.

‘Labor promised a $275 cut to power bills – this didn’t happen. Instead, prices have increased hurting our families and businesses. Immigration is at record levels and now no one can afford a home. The election is about who is best to help with cost of living, housing and rental pressures,’ stated Mr Hogan in his press release.

I always believe that our best days are ahead of us, and this election is an opportunity to achieve that.’
