Congratulations to Maribeth Cole, who won Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Community Theatre Play at the 2025 Gold Palm Awards, for her role in the Drill Hall Theatre Company’s production of 10 Minutes of Fame.
Maribeth was awarded at the Palmies’ presentation night held at Dracula’s Cabaret Restaurant, on Broadbeach, on 8 December, 2025.
Drill Hall managers say, ‘Established in 2009 as the Gold Coast Area Theatre Awards, and regarded as a highlight of the performance year in South East Qld and Northern NSW, the awards acknowledge the huge contribution made to the area’s entertainment life, by awarding participants in shows staged by local community theatre groups, high schools and colleges’.
They added that Maribeth had been away from the stage for a few decades.
‘Maribeth trained in performance theory, and dramaturgy and has spent the intervening years putting those skills to use as a professional chef and artisanal baker’, they said.
