We have known for decades that Netanyahu claims that any criticism of Israel is a result of antisemitism in order to portray any such criticism as nothing but an unjustified form of racism against Jews. Now Australia’s political leaders, including Prime Minister Albanese, claim that all opposition against Israel and its Jewish and other supporters in Australia is motivated only by antisemitism, as if such opposition only comes from a bunch of racist Nazis.
The massacre of Australian Jews at Bondi a fortnight ago was not motivated by racist Nazi antisemitism but was a result of Israeli treatment of Palestinians since 1948, particularly during the past two years in the Gaza strip. Of course Netanyahu claims that this is a response to the Hamas attack on 7 October, 2023. What has occurred in the Gaza strip since that date has not been a war against an armed opposition, like the Russian war against Ukraine, but a massacre of tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians, mostly women and children who had no participation in the 7 October attack.
Only one side in that conflict had an air force, artillery, tanks and all the other machinery of modern warfare, practically all supplied by the US. I think Trump continues to uniquely supply Israel with weapons of war at no cost.
As long as Australian Jews continue to ally themselves with Israel and support this barbarism which Palestinians have suffered in one form or another since 1948 they cannot expect friendly and peaceful treatment by all sectors of the Australian population.
No other immigrant group in Australia is treated similarly. All Australians except Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders are immigrants. Australia was known as terra nullius by the British colonists. I clearly remember when Palestine was called, by Israelis, a land without people for a people without land, They’re still a bunch of colonists.
