While Nimbin’s Urban Boil Water Alert was lifted 25 February, 2026, it is now back, with Lismore Council advising that water treatment issues are “making tap water unsafe to drink”.
They say, “All water used for drinking, food preparation, brushing teeth, making ice, washing uncooked food, and pet drinking water must be brought to a rolling boil, cooled, and stored safely, or replaced with bottled water”.
While the warning is clearly marked on Council’s homepage, there is no further information on their “latest news” section. The last mention around the lifting of water restrictions in Nimbin was on February 25.
