
Police are appealing for help to find a man wanted over a serious assault at Byron Bay last week.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jason Anthony Rutter, aged 43.
The warrant relates to an assault in Byron Bay on Tuesday, 5 August.
Officers from Tweed/Byron Local Area Command have conducted extensive searches in an attempt to locate Rutter.
His car was located in Coolangatta on the Gold Coast, the day after the assault and it’s believed he may currently be in the Gold Coast area.
Investigators are appealing for public help to locate him.
He’s described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 175cm and 185cm tall, with thin build and brown hair.
Anyone seeing Rutter is urged not to approach him but to contact Triple Zero ‘000’ immediately.
