A man has been arrested following a serious assault at the Riverview Hotel, Murwillumbah, on Thursday night.
A 44-year-old man was seriously assaulted in the pub at about 11.30pm Thursday (March 24).
He was taken to hospital and required surgery for facial injuries.
At about 4pm Saturday (April 30), police who were conducting random breath tests on Kyogle Road, Uki, identified a 21-year-old Murwillumbah man and placed him under arrest.
He was taken to Tweed Heads police station where he was charged with affray and recklessly cause grievous bodily harm.
He has subsequently been granted conditional bail to appear at Murwillumbah Local Court.
