Police are investigating after a toddler was run over by his father’s car at Kyogle yesterday afternoon (Wednesday June 1).
About 3.30pm a 44-year-old man, who was repairing a car at a property at Hill Street, attempted to ‘roll start’ the vehicle when it rolled backwards over his 19-month-old son.
The man rendered first aid until NSW Ambulance Paramedics arrived and took the child to Kyogle Hospital for assessment.
The child was later taken to Lismore Base Hospital for specialised treatment.
His condition is described as being serious but stable.
Officers from Richmond Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
