This weekend’s bush dance at The Ocean Shores Community Centre will bring the community together for one heck of a hoedown.

The event aims to build community and ownership of the Community Centre.

Local bluegrass band Thrillbilly Stomp will call the dancing in and as the band say ‘it is not uncommon to see the dance floor being shared by little kids, teenagers, young adults, mums and dads, grandmas and grandpas, and even great grandmas and grandpas at a Thrillbilly Stomp gig.’

The event will host a kids’ zone – with a Lego station, children’s games, performance by a local children’s theatre group and a singalong with instruments.

The food zone will include local catering businesses and the event is BYO.

The family fun event kicks off at 5pm on Saturday 20th August and people are encouraged to dress up in their creative country-themed best.

Support The Echo

Keeping the community together and the community voice loud and clear is what The Echo is about. More than ever we need your help to keep this voice alive and thriving in the community.

Like all businesses we are struggling to keep food on the table of all our local and hard working journalists, artists, sales, delivery and drudges who keep the news coming out to you both in the newspaper and online. If you can spare a few dollars a week – or maybe more – we would appreciate all the support you are able to give to keep the voice of independent, local journalism alive.
