Under The Sun Media, a team which says it has dozens of documentary films and ‘literally hundreds’ of live large-footprint high-population shows and broadcasts to their credit, plan to base operations locally. A documentary-drama film titled Occupy Groundswell as the feature of a touring show is due to commence production in early 2017.
‘The film is based on studio and location footage captured throughout the global search by three diverse but intrinsically connected key characters who together progressively create a compelling and positive image for the future of humanity,’ says Under the Sun Media.
‘The outcomes of their adventures become the pages of this story and will form a clear image for everyone of where our world is headed, and more so, what is truly possible for us. There will be the usual cast of hero, guides, experts, mentors, protagonists, and of course the proverbial antagonists.
‘Once ready to hit the road, the film, live performance staging and multi-camera outside-broadcast forum-series production will kick off on a worldwide tour here at the most easterly point of Australia’s coastline in a format usually seen in a big-top circus tent with a circular centre main-stage, powerful sound and lighting rigs, satellite entertainment stages, and a multiple-big-screen projection system.
‘In addition to the touring show the team has long-term plans to continue providing news and current affairs, drama and entertainment, and an ongoing forum series via broadcast television and will also use the worldwide web as a delivery mechanism.
‘The Under The Sun project will showcase what has been going on locally with sustainable business, encourage its growth, and bring this to the world stage. A lot of interest has already been generated around local media and creative hub development and there is plenty of scope for facilities to be developed.’
The Occupy Groundswell project has turned to crowdfunding. ‘Traditional sources of development funding have shrunk, even for established filmmakers,’ says the team, and ‘[we want] to involve the community in the process of making the film.’
